Wisconsin students take on the stock market

Caleb Seeger from Racine, Bekka Coenen from Fremont, and Amanda Couillard from Appleton teamed up to compete in Wisconsin’s Stock Market Simulation program this past fall, along with more than 100 teams from the area. Their team earned more than $15,000 in profit over the ten week simulation earning them 7th place in the region.

Patrick Murphy won first place at the 2008 Washington State Science and Engineering Fair

In the April, all-state, science and engineering fair, Patrick Murphy took home several awards for his Patrick  Murphyproject in the Behavioral and Social Sciences category. Patrick began work on his project a year ago, and with close guidance from his instructor and mentor, created a project that won him first place in his category, as well as Special Recognition for a Quality Project, an Award of Excellence from the American Psychological Association and a $60,000 scholarship to Wesleyan University.

Gabriella Mayfield - the youngest female in Kern County to bowl a perfect 300


Gabriella Mayfield - the youngest female in Kern County to bowl a perfect 300 game-bowled in a  tournament in early November and ranked an impressive 7th of the 800 girls competing.Gabi, a freshman at Insight School of California – Los Angeles, bowls on two local leagues and is practicing for a national tournament in April. Already a winner of the state competition of the Bowlers forVeterans League, Gabi is ready to become a certified bowling instructor.

Andrew Bartee has been honored with a 2007 Princess Grace Award

Andrew Bartee has been honored with a 2007 Princess Grace Award, which recognizes aspiring artists in theater, film and dance. A junior at  Insight School of Washington and this year's youngest honoree, Andrew is a dancer at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. Catch Andrew on stage as he performs several roles in the Pacific Northwest Ballet holiday classic The Nutcracker, Nov. 23 through Dec. 29 at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.
